Encaustic Painting: Ironing on Paper with Penny Treese
Ironing on paper or panel as an encaustic wax painting technique results in a unique and beautiful experience for the artist and the viewer. Surfaces can be created to emulate coral-thick and textural, or thin transparent layers of color that seem to pulsate and move before the eyes of the beholder. In this encaustic workshop, learn the method of ironing wax to develop what Penny calls, “Selfscapes,” representations of sky, sea, ground, or simple yet stunning abstract fields of luscious color. You will leave this workshop with several encaustic wax paintings on paper or wooden substrates.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Materials are included in the Materials Kit Fee of $30 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop via cash or check.
