Penny Treese is a local Atlanta fine artist who has taught encaustic painting with Fine Arts Workshop at King Plow, Binders Art Supply, and Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. She's now offering one-day "Pop-Up" workshops, currently, teaching encaustic painting to artists and non-artists alike.

REGISTER NOW for Intro to Encaustic Painting Classes at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Explore the ancient technique of encaustic painting that has made a recent resurgence in popularity. Learn the basics of color-pigmenting molten beeswax, applying luscious layers to wood and paper surfaces and heating with a blowtorch or iron to fuse and preserve your paintings. Several techniques will be explored and demoed: polishing wax to a high gloss, inscribing and transferring, embedding, and scraping and building up of wax to create rich texture.  Supplies included; additional materials will be available for purchase. Please bring lunch for Saturday workshop.  Min. 5, max. 8.
